about

Ian East and David Beebee discovered their shared concerns in music in 1996 whilst both studying at the Royal Academy of music in London and began exploring the relationships between composition and improvisation which resulted in this release 'Momentito' which represents the fruits of their enquiry through the late 1990s. Originally released in 1999 it was greeted with widespread acclaim and was featured as Jazz Album of the Week in London's Evening Standard. Expressing themselves within a jazz framework they draw upon a diverse array of influences and sources from contemporary jazz to classical music and various styles from around the world.
